The Shanghai Hospital Project is the first wholly foreign-funded research-oriented international hospital established by Silver Mountain Group and Artemed SE in Shanghai Free Trade Zone in China
. The Shanghai Hospital project officially began operation on September 26, 2019. The hospital features in oncology, orthopedics, and hematology, with complete and comprehensive medical equipment. As a research-oriented international hospital, the hospital advocates a new model of integrating diagnosis and treatment with healthcare team from multiple specialties, focuses on clinical research and innovative transformation, and regards "patients’ needs first" as the fundamental principle of the hospital . As part of the “ Plan of Action of German-Chinese Public Health Co-operation”, Shanghai International Hospital is supported by both countries and received substantial support from the Federal Ministry of Health ( Germany), the National Health and Family Planning Commission of the PRC, and the China ( Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone Management Committee Authority.
